But as you can probably tell by the way I started this review, it isn't. There are really only 2 songs on here that I remember, "Crazy" because it features Brit, and "Playing With Fire" because its the name of the album. I mean the album isn't terrible, but it is forgettable. Seriously, I really wanted K-Fed to come out and surprise everyone with a bomb-ass album, but it's almost disappointing to hear it, almost, because alot of people expected it to be bad. Maybe he shouldn't quit his day job, wait a minute, what is his day job.

New albums

The Game - Doctors Advocate
They should have named this album "The Re-birth of Compton Hip-Hop", because that is what Game did with this classic. Listening to this album you can hear Dre's influence, I mean even though he is not on Aftermath, he is still Dr. Dre's Protege. I'm gonna do something here and list all songs on this album and tell you what I think about it.
01. Lookin' At You (Produced By Urban EP Pope)
From the beginning you hear that match light and know its the beginning of the bomb-ass album
02. Da Shit (Produced By DJ Khalil)
I thought the name was "Streets of Compton" because thats what you hear in the chorus, but after hearing the whole song I know why its named "Da Shit" because The Game is Da Shit.
03. It's Okay (One Blood)(Produced By Reefa)
First single, we all heard this one. Great sample of Junior Reid's "One Blood" song.
04. Compton (Feat. Will.I.Am)(Produced By Will.I.Am)
Yep you read that right, featuring Will.I.Am, people don't know that Will was on Ruthless back in the day. Good collabo, Will's beat is very good, and the sample of NWA's "Compton" sound is just fire.
05. Remedy (Produced By Just Blaze)
DAMN, this song brought me back to the early 90's, classic compton gangsta rap song. The beat is reminiscent of NWA, I mean its pretty much a remake of one of their songs, which one I can't think of right now, but I think it "Parental Discretion is Advized". Just Blaze really did a good job on this one.
06. Let's Ride (Produced By Scott Storch)
My favorite song right now, its actually got a second name "Strip Club". Man does he sound like Dre in his prime, plus its got the chorus thats sung. Really radio-friendly, aside from the language, I think it will be his next single. Plus it was on CSI, the one with K-Fed.
07. Too Much (Feat. Nate Dogg)(Produced By Scott Storch)
"It ain't a hit until Nate Dogg spits". Smooth laid back groove, plus Nate Dogg is on it.
08. Wouldn't Get Far (Feat. Kanye West)(Produced By Kanye West)
Kanye does it again, great sample, great flow. Song is about those video girls that wouldn't get far if they didn't use their bodies to their advantage. Good message to the youngsters coming up.
09. Scream On 'Em (Feat. Swizz Beatz)
Swizz Beatz beat, easy to tell that on this beat. But Game can pretty much flow on anything, could be one of the weaker songs on the album, but If it is its still a really good song.
10. One Night (Produced By Nottz)
Laid-back song, good use of the chorus of "Two Occasions", and I think its a pretty personal song for the Game.
11. Doctor's Advocate (Feat. Busta Rhymes)(Produced By Jonathan"J.R." Rotem)
"Its still Aftermath, and ain't nothing after that" This song is really good, Game actually changes his flow to sound drunk, and Busta is on it. Even though it sounds like a message to Dre, it is actually a message to all of us saying that even though Dr. Dre isn't his boss he is still a part of Games life. Also Busta comes in and gives his piece of how he feels about the situation.
12. Ol' English (Produced By Hi Tek)
His song about the gangsta favorite "Old English", another laid-back song that is pretty good.
13. California Vacation (Feat. Snoop & Xzibit)(Produced ByJonathan "J.R." Rotem)
"Westcoast" Snoop & X to the Z, Cali still got the shit. I mean Snoop is still the man, and X can flow even though he is known more for pimping cars now, and The Game is the best out of Cali right now.
14. Bang (Feat. Kurupt & Daz)(Produced By Jelly Roll)
Aww shit, the Dogg Pound on this one, which means this is westside music, rider music.
15. Around The World (Feat. Jamie Foxx)(Produced By Mr. Porter)
Jamie Foxx can sing his ass off. Great song, another laid-back one, and Game rides this beat well.
16. Why You Hate The Game (Feat. Nas)(Produced By Just Blaze)
Nas, thats all that I need to say. I mean, Nas is one of the greatest of all time. This song has the feel of a New York song, yet it still sounds like a westcoast song. Really tries to squash the beef with 50 in this one, and remembers Proof.

I think that even though Dre isn't mentioned in the credits of this album, he still had a big influence here. I mean just listening to it, most of the songs have that Dre sound and anytime their is a westcoast album it is influenced by NWA. I think this a great album, and is the best album out this year with only 2 months left in the year, only H to the Izzo can topple this album off the top. 5 out of 5, yep it is really that good.

First reviews

Heres my reviews of some albums released in the past 2 months

Frankie J - Priceless
This album is pretty good, I like the song that they are playing on the radio now, "That Girl", and he also has a song with Bone Thugs called "Never Let You Down" which I think is his next single. There are some slow jams, that I think he does a really good job at. All in all a really good album, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Fergie - The Dutchess
A great album, in my opinion. Fergie hit the jackpot when she joined the Black-Eyed Peas, because I remember her in Wild Orchid, and even though she had a good voice, the whole package was pretty much bland. Now that she has Will.I.Am in her corner, she can only get better. I thought the first single "London Bridge" was okay, but "Fergilicious" and "Clumsy" are better songs, and she has some pretty good slow songs on here too. I'd have to give her album a 4 out of 5.

Lady Sovereign - Public Warning
Believe the hype, thats what I say about Lady Sovereign. Her album is a great way to start her carreer here in the states. First single, "Love Me or Hate Me", awesome, the remix is even better, and the other songs on this album just solidifies her claim at the "Female Eminem" title. If Hova likes her, then she must be good. 4 out of 5

Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesound
One thing comes to mind when I hear this album, and that is "Timberland is a genius". How can you argue with that, after dropping Nelly Furtado's album, which is a 4 out of 5, he comes with this album. From the first time I heard "Sexyback" I knew this album was gonna be special, second single "My Love" is even better. I don't think anyone can make an album where every song is a hit, but I think JT came pretty close. 4.5 out of 5, probably closer to a 5 than any other album.

Akon - Konvicted
Akon is talented, he really does have an ear for the radio-friendly songs. "Smack That", and "I Wanna Love You" are really bangin' the clubs and trunks across the USA, but my favorite song is "Mama Africa" a reggae style song which Akon really did well. We'll be hearing more from him in the next decade. 3.5 out of 5.

Pepper - No Shame
Alot of you have probably never heard of Pepper, so let me introduce them to you. Pepper is a 3 peice rock band from right here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their sound can be compared to Sublime, 311 and Red Hot Chillipeppers, they are currently on tour with 311 and have released 3 albums prior to "No Shame". This album is their first release on a major record label, so if you haven't heard them before, be prepared to hear alot of them in the future. They released a song called "No Control" on their MySpace page a few months ago, and I thought it was a good song that sounded like the old Pepper was back. Then they put the song "Your Face" on their page and I went crazy trying to find it, I absolutely love this song, great song that is one of the most requested songs in L.A. Their whole album is great, I can put it on and listen to the whole album without skipping any songs. 4.5 out of 5, maybe I'm biased because I knew them since they were rocking on vans at the harbor, but the album is that damn good.
