First reviews

Heres my reviews of some albums released in the past 2 months

Frankie J - Priceless
This album is pretty good, I like the song that they are playing on the radio now, "That Girl", and he also has a song with Bone Thugs called "Never Let You Down" which I think is his next single. There are some slow jams, that I think he does a really good job at. All in all a really good album, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Fergie - The Dutchess
A great album, in my opinion. Fergie hit the jackpot when she joined the Black-Eyed Peas, because I remember her in Wild Orchid, and even though she had a good voice, the whole package was pretty much bland. Now that she has Will.I.Am in her corner, she can only get better. I thought the first single "London Bridge" was okay, but "Fergilicious" and "Clumsy" are better songs, and she has some pretty good slow songs on here too. I'd have to give her album a 4 out of 5.

Lady Sovereign - Public Warning
Believe the hype, thats what I say about Lady Sovereign. Her album is a great way to start her carreer here in the states. First single, "Love Me or Hate Me", awesome, the remix is even better, and the other songs on this album just solidifies her claim at the "Female Eminem" title. If Hova likes her, then she must be good. 4 out of 5

Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesound
One thing comes to mind when I hear this album, and that is "Timberland is a genius". How can you argue with that, after dropping Nelly Furtado's album, which is a 4 out of 5, he comes with this album. From the first time I heard "Sexyback" I knew this album was gonna be special, second single "My Love" is even better. I don't think anyone can make an album where every song is a hit, but I think JT came pretty close. 4.5 out of 5, probably closer to a 5 than any other album.

Akon - Konvicted
Akon is talented, he really does have an ear for the radio-friendly songs. "Smack That", and "I Wanna Love You" are really bangin' the clubs and trunks across the USA, but my favorite song is "Mama Africa" a reggae style song which Akon really did well. We'll be hearing more from him in the next decade. 3.5 out of 5.

Pepper - No Shame
Alot of you have probably never heard of Pepper, so let me introduce them to you. Pepper is a 3 peice rock band from right here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Their sound can be compared to Sublime, 311 and Red Hot Chillipeppers, they are currently on tour with 311 and have released 3 albums prior to "No Shame". This album is their first release on a major record label, so if you haven't heard them before, be prepared to hear alot of them in the future. They released a song called "No Control" on their MySpace page a few months ago, and I thought it was a good song that sounded like the old Pepper was back. Then they put the song "Your Face" on their page and I went crazy trying to find it, I absolutely love this song, great song that is one of the most requested songs in L.A. Their whole album is great, I can put it on and listen to the whole album without skipping any songs. 4.5 out of 5, maybe I'm biased because I knew them since they were rocking on vans at the harbor, but the album is that damn good.
